Enjoying the little things in life

„Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.“ ~  Antonio Smith

After a nice and relaxing weekend I am ready for a fabulous new week. Isn't it amazing what a little rest can do to lift one's spirit! When I think about it, one of the elements of my own happiness is that I take the time to enjoy the little things in life.

My relaxing weekend started on Friday night.

I make it a point to enjoy the little things, because it helps me appreciate the big things. It keeps me young and keeps my day bright. Being able to enjoy the little things makes harsh times bearable, because no matter how tough or hard life gets, you’ll always be able to find something to smile at.

While I was answering interview questions for Hedonist Factory, I enjoyed every second on my balcony. The sunshine, the fresh air, the bird songs, my coffee...
The interview is finished and it's written in Bosnian, here is the link: Interview: Dama iz prošlosti - Idda van Munster.

Enjoying my time on balcony.
My week with Marilyn. I say: "My weekend with Marilyn!"
Also my secret of relaxing is reading. Never judge a book by its movie.
I saw the movie before a few months. I was disappointed with the movie because of Michell William's casting in the role. She was no Marilyn Monroe in either her looks - not pretty enough, or in her sensuality - not sexy enough. They spent months casting Scarlet O'Hara for Gone with the Wind before they got it right. They should have done the same with casting this crucial role. They got it wrong. This movie lets us see one week of Marylin Monroe's short life during filming 1957 movie The Prince and the Showgirl. I'm really, really - disappointed!!!
Let me know what you think if you have seen it too!?

The book was brilliant and I couldn't put it down.

After such a lovely weekend I am ready to face the week with a smile on my face!

Thanks for visiting today and for spending time with me in my little corner.

I love it when my beautiful blogging friends stop by - your visits make my day! I can't believe how lovely you all are!

Best wishes for a beautiful week start.

With love,

Idda van Munster

  1. I am like you, I make a point of enjoying the little things in life. And I make sure that I find at least one thing every day that makes me happy and puts a smile on my face.
In the last few days since I've discovered your blog, it has been reading your fabulous posts.
Other things that made me happy were spedning the day with a favourte friend, buying myself flowers, walking in the rain and as always, reading a good book.

Here is to more happy moments!

  3. Većinom svi provodimo život jureći i čekajući velike stvari zaboravljajući da je život uglavnom sastavljen od malih i da smo prestali uživati u njima. Dobra knjiga, dobra muzika, dobro društvo...Šta više da se poželi?

  4. I completely agree with your comments on Michelle Williams as Marilyn! I know it would be impossible to find a perfect imitation, as Marilyn was one-of-a-kind, but they could have done a better job.
She was missing the Marilyn aura. She didn't even look that much like her. I've watched low-budget films about Marilyn's life that had a better casting than My Week with Marilyn did!
Haha, I'm going to stop there before I start off on a proper rant.

I'm glad the book was good, though! <3

  6. hi aida i totally agree with u, i too enjoy the simple pleasures of life they have helped me through hard times including a serious illness so i really do appreciate them, its lovely to read about other people to enjoying nature and life and its beauty, i also agree about marilyn i was so disappointed with the film, they went on and on about how good she was in the role but she wasnt, she looked nothing like her really and the blonde hair which is so crucial to the marilyn look didnt suit michelle williams skin colour at all, she tried alright but she didnt come close to capturing marilyns innocence or vulnerability. The book was brilliant though, glad u had a good weekend, i went shopping yesterday i shouldnt be allowed near shops i always spend way too much my poor husband, were meant to be saving for new furniture!! Rained all day here today so we couldnt even take are little princess out for a walk, have a great week and sending you lots of love and kisses from Dublin xxx leonie
